Wigan St Judes 52-6 Cadishead

The third game of the season saw us welcome Cadishead who we’ve had some good battles with over recent seasons. The pitch was very heavy and conditions a little testing, but the boys were up for it. Judes started strong and were gifted space to work in. The first couple of sets were completed before Dec Gregory managed to scoot out of dummy half from 10m out to score the first try. From the kick off Judes showed a great exit set which resulted in them going nearly 90m upfield and Jake crashing over - great team work. Shortly after, Jake went over again, followed by a try from Liam which was created by a high bomb from Rio. Prior to half time great passing out to the wing saw Kian Dainty go over for a debut try and then Jordan crash over from short distance.
HT - 28-0
The second half was a little more scrappy with completion rate dropping and some discipline errors. But that didn’t stop Judes wanting to finish the game with more points. Jake managed to get over for his hat-trick before the game intensity lifted with some block busting tackles from TJ. He really lifted all the supporters. From that Judes managed to find space on the left and Jake drew the defenders to give Dylan Keller the ball to race in for a great try. Next on the score sheet was TJ who bull dozed his way over the line for a try that had been coming from previous games and last but not least a great ball on the right side from Rio to put Cameron Ashcroft through a huge gap. It was a very pleasing performance with a top notch attitude. Well done everyone.

Waterhead 10-12 Wigan St Judes

Proud of the lads for playing in horrendous weather today. Tries from Harvey Makin & Lewis Pinder and 2 successful conversions by Callum Silcock, proved the difference in the end after Waterhead also scored twice, but we managed to hang on for the win.

Massive well done lads, always a tough game at Waterhead, especially in the snow! Congratulations to Theo Bishop who claimed Man of the Match Award.
