Sunday, 10 October 202110's - GoldsHaydockHome50-22A bright sunny autumn morning down at the meadow, Judes welcomed Haydock. Unfortunately, Haydock only had 10 players, kindly Jayden King put his hand up to volunteer to cross over to the Haydock side for the first half. Haydock kicked off to Judes. Upon Judes receiving the ball, they drove it hard up the field, kicking on the last to send it straight into Haydock’s full backs hands, they repeated sending their ball into Judes hands, some excellent communication from Judes passed the ball out to Tommy (gun) Shaw, he raced down the field scoring the first try of the game, Declan Haskayne getting the conversion. 6-0.
Haydock’s play of the ball, first pass out to their number 10, he ducked his way through the Judes players to score a try, missed conversion. 6-4.
Again, excellent organization skills, Judes worked hard to keep the ball alive, passing out to Tommy Shaw, were he raced down the field to score his second try of the game, Will Cobley converting. 12-4
Haydock had their set of 6, proving hard to tackle, but Judes managed to tackle them just before the try line. Handover to Judes. A good run from Freddie Davies took Judes over half way line, Will cobley passing out to Toby Hutchinson, he pumped his legs and set off running, hand off, to race to the try line, Paddy Kelly converting. 18-4.
Judes were too strong in defense and forced Haydock into touch, Judes worked hard, before Paddy Kelly stormed his way over for his first ever Judes try. Conversion missed. 22-4
Half Time: Wigan St Judes U10’s Gold’s 22 – Haydock 4.
Second half.
Max Lowe volunteered to swap with Jayden King to help the Haydock side. Judes kicking off to Haydock. Haydock stormed up the field as they had turned the pace on, Judes defense had dropped slightly, 10 meters from Haydock try line, Haydock passed the ball out, but Jayden King had another intention, he managed to get the interception and run full length of the field to score a cracking try. Zak Lushchan converting. 28-4. The next 2 sets were full sets, Haydock’s next set saw them running full length of the field to score a try with conversion. 28-10.
Zak Lushchan wanted some of that, he got the ball, was ducking and diving through the Haydock side to score a full length of his own. Conversion missed. 32-10.
Judes attitude to the game dropped a little, allowing Haydock to score 2 more tries and convert both goals. 32-22.
Judes shook their heads and got to work, using some excellent skills that they have been working on in training, Toby Hutchinson running from deep, took a couple of players on his back with him, but powered to the try line, Jayden King converting. 38-22. Haydock’s ball and Judes forced the era, Haydock knocking the ball on, Judes used it to their advantage, passing out wide to Tommy Shaw, with an amazing effort and sheer determination, Tommy went over the whitewash for his hat-trick, Tommy converting his own try. 44-22.
Haydock kept their heads held high and still carried on, with only a couple of minutes to go, Judes again got the Haydock player into touch, Judes ball, passed out to Zak Lushchan who got his second and the final try of the game. Jack Stanton converting. 50-22.
