Judes played with great discipline and control
Completion rate in the 1st half 78% was just what the coach asked for against a tough Bradford outfit , both teams scoring 2 try’s each one from outstanding hooker Jacob dougdale and right on half time a cross field kick was tapped backwards by Brogan Turner for winger cal kneavcy to score wide out
Judes 8-12 down at halftime
Judes started the 2nd half fast scoring 3 more times in a 13 minute onslaught, u/18s centre Brogan Turner finished a great passage of play scoring wide out 12-12
Then came the Try of the game Danny Cassidy burst through the middle of the Bradford defence and raced 60 m round the fullback then handed off the covering defender to score in corner 12-16
On 61 mins captain josh Hill scored winning try under the post coming on to a short pass-he side steps the fullback like a stand off to score under the post ,converted by Danny Fallon 22-12
Bradford scored a try on 70 mins 22-16 but Jude’s completing at a remarkable 95 % defended brilliantly to close the game down for victory

For the second in week in a row, young hooker Logan Johnson was the star of the show with 40 plus tackles and 3 tries.
Other try scorers for St Jude’s were Rio Roberts, Callum Silcock, Danny Clayton, and finally Will Prior with undoubtedly the try of the day.
In a superb all round team performance, stand out players for St Jude’s were Logan Johnson, Callum Silcock, Dean Hunt, and Konnah Crooke.
Sunday, 24 July 202211's - GoldsNewton StormAway22-10Judes travelled to Newton to play a re-arranged fixture.
Judes kicked off the first half, Newton knocking the ball into touch. Judes scrum, but the team didn’t make use of having the ball back as they tried to get to the line, but Newton’s defence was too strong. First touch of the ball, Newton passed it out through their line and scored in the set, converting their goal. 6-0
Judes bounced back using the forwards to get up field, Declan Haskayne pumping his legs to the try line, Jayden King converting. 6-6.
A couple of sets with no tries conceded, Judes giving a penalty away, set Newton up to score their second try of the game, missing the conversion. 10-6
Judes made some silly errors, [passing the ball out too wide, which then went into touch. Newton’s ball and they passed it out well, only to get another penalty right on their try line for Judes being offside. Judes defended this amazingly well, keeping the Newton team out.

Second half, kicked off by Newton, Zak Lushchan receiving the ball and setting off like a steam train, nobody was going to catch him, as he set off down the wing for a fantastic try. Cameron Riley converting. 10-12
Newton’s ball and the first play of the ball was a knock on, Judes gaining control, they powered through the defensive line, to get the ball to Declan Haskayne, who scored his second of the game, conversion missed. 10-16.
Judes had fire in their bellies and were determined to keep the Newton team out, they had to work hard, but it paid off as again Newton made errors.
Judes scored the last try of the game, it came from a great duck and dive from Tommy Shaw as he weaved in and out of the defence. Declan Haskayne converting. 10-22
Final score Newton storm 10 Wigan St Judes Gold’s 22.
A hard game to play today against a very well drilled side. A few words were said in the tackles between the boys, a bit of pushing and shoving, a few knocks and bruises, but this is Rugby League!!
