Sunday, 22 May 202212'sRylandsHome38-6St Judes were in outstanding form as they continued their successful cup run to make it through to the semi finals. St Judes set the tone early in the match as Harvey Woolfenden bashed his way through the middle to go 40 metres to score under the posts.

Very quickly, Judes were able to extend their lead as Dylan Donnelly raced 60 metres to score his very first try for the maroon and golds.

A great break from Jack Fullerton set up Layton Semmens for Judes' third try of the game. Rylands were simply unable to cope with the pressure from Judes as George Burrows went in for the fourth try courtesy of a great offload from Harvey Woolfenden.

Judes went into the half time break with the score at 22-0 and came out just as determined in the second half.

A lovely ball from Carter Grundy put Ben Green into space who turned on his speed to get through for Judes' fifth of the game.

Judes continued to rack up the points as Jamie Gaskell dummied his way to the line to get over for Judes' sixth of the match.

Ben Green shrugged off the Rylands fullback to score his second and put Judes 38-0 ahead.

Rylands did manage to get over for a consolation try in the very last minute to bring the final score to 38-6. Layton Semmens kicked four conversions and Joshua Stott kicked one.

The Judes lads enjoyed their victory and look in fine form ahead of the semi final.
Sunday, 22 May 202213's - MaroonsChorley PanthersAway32-0Sunday lunchtime took us the fairly short distance to Chorley. The game was a bit of an arm wrestle to begin with, both sides making good progress forward but some strong defence keeping the scores level, some good strong tackles by Jacob and Zac helping the cause. A kick on the last by the Panthers and ball landed with Ellis. The usual storming run by him and a great offload to Connor to go over underneath the uprights. Billy with a comfortable conversion. With the early score the Maroons were able to relax and were able to show what they could do.
Jacob in his brand new boots, I had to check they were legal and didn’t have turbos on them as he sprinted down the touchline just staying in from touch and going over the whitewash to increase the Maroons lead. Billy kicking over to double the advantage.
The Maroons were cooking on gas now and some more great interplay between Jack, Thomas and Harry who with an audacious flick, not sure if he meant it but the ball landed to Jacob again to go over in the corner. Think we all need a pair of these boots. Harley with a tough kick on the left edge but it went right over the middle of the posts.
It was wave after wave of attack from the Maroons, determined to press home their advantage and some more great back line play, I only know that phrase from the constant shouting from Craig to put a back line set on, also would love the boys to get deeper too so Worthy doesn’t lose his voice. Erm where was I? Oh yeah Jacob ended up with the ball and he glided over again for a hat trick. These boots will be put in a museum one day. Billy with the conversion.
Some more great attacking play and Harley got the ball and he was determined to get over the line. I thought he got over but unfortunately he got injured in the process and we all wish him a speedy recovery. So brave, and he was more focused on whether he scored a try or not than how sore his arm was. Shows the character of the lad. The try for some reason wasn’t awarded and it was and half time.
More great defence from the Maroons, determined not to concede a point. A strong defence just as important as scoring at the other end. Some great play going forward and Thomas in his usual graceful manner glides past a couple of defenders to go over. Billy with the kick .
Then some more great play and ball spread out wide to Lennon to nearly go over in the corner but the ball was ripped out and a penalty awarded, unfortunately we were unable to increase the lead from there. The last ten minutes, Ellis came alive and a tiring defence do not want to see that, he was able to score 3 times in a matter of minutes. Billy converting a couple of them.
Final score Judes Maroons 32 Chorley Panthers 0
