Saturday, 15 May 2021Under 8's - GoldsInce Rose BridgeHomeX XToday was the toughest test the kids have had as a group. They kept going until the end and have plenty to learn from the game today, which will stand them in good stead for the future. I couldn't be more proud of them all.

The kids worked hard throughout the game making tackles and keeping moving forward with the ball even after picking up bumps along the way.

Player of the match was Ronnie for keeping going after getting injured.

Opposition player of the match was Joey after some great tackling and carrying the ball.

There's a couple of weeks gap in matches now so plenty of opportunities to put in to practice what we learned on the pitch today.
Sunday, 16 May 2021Under 12's - GoldsThatto HeathAway10-18Bit of a slow start for the Jude’s golds today and just couldn’t bring it back in time against a good Thatto Heath team
we go again next week in the cup

Sunday, 16 May 2021Under 15s - MaroonsLeigh EastHome6 - 44Not a good day down at the meadow today for the lads. What difference a week can make? The lads were the total opposite of the team that walked out last week against chorley. Only superb interception and leg race to the line stopped the lads from being niled. Hopefully this could be a wake up call for them going forward this season.
Sunday, 16 May 2021Under 18'sFolly LaneAway66-10Judes recorded their first win of the season today and just like the battle we came away worthy winners 10-66.

Judes tries came thick and fast from the very first set. Great off-loading of the ball left to right, to our winger Declan, who still had 2 defenders to deal with before crashing over to score. A strong run from the restart by Rio saw the ball reefed, but the call went against us, putting Folly Lane on the attack in our half. They headed for the corner, but our defence held firm and forced them into touch before scoring. Strong defence on show today from Judes stick Folly Lane in their half and force a knock-on giving us ball in a great position. Great running from both Ryan and Logan today who both went close to the try line, but it was Callum who came away with the spoils, diving over under the sticks to record his first of a first-half hattrick! Minutes later he was diving over again and was definitely up for this game today. Folly Lane restart and a brilliant break by Ryan from fullback, put in a good off-load to our supporting half Brook, how came onto the ball at pace and steamed to the line to score. On the restart, Ryan receives one round the chops and is awarded a penalty for the bell ringer. Off he went doing what he does best, sniffing out a gap to shoot through and score and recorded the first of his hattrick. Huge up and under from Callum saw Folly Lane spill the ball and TJ went steaming onto a ball and looked poise to score, unfortunately the pass was deemed forward and turned over to the opposition. Folly Lane tried to break our defence down, but our line was solid today. They even tried a chip over, which Ryan collected round his feet and took off at speed to put us back in an attacking position and after some crisp ball movement, the ball went out to our ever supporting Josh who set off to record his 4 pointer. Judes also showed good scrambling defence today and when Folly Lane did attempt to break, our lads were more than capable of snuffing it out. We end the first half with a final score from our number 6 Callum who backed himself from half-way to out run the defence and even brought it back under the posts, converting his own try he was on fire, scoring a hattrick and nailing all 7 conversions first half, helping Judes dominate the half 0-42.

Judes give a penalty away which wasn’t the start we wanted, Folly Lane opted for a kick to touch, but the ball didn’t make it and Liam plucked it out the air and got us back on the attack. Judes are awarded another 6, but one play is all that’s needed when our prop Tom proved too much to handle and went on a blistering run and crashed over. Judes were looking to attack the line every set, this time our opposition defence held firm and forced James to grubber, which unfortunately just ran dead. Folly Lane reply and within seconds we are defending our line, quick hands from Folly Lane looked like the ball had gone to ground, but the decision went their way and gave them a repeat set and were close enough to the line to go over and score. Judes kick off to restart, Folly Lane let the ball bounce and Rio was the first to react swooping on the ball. The ball is played to Ryan, who showed his amazing footwork to dart through the defence and score his second. Rio followed up shortly after when Folly Lane drop the ball and he scooped it up and set off like Usain Bolt untouched to the line. Folly Lane did have another say in the game when they forced their way up the other end to score their final points of the game. All our lads ran well today and Ben Hardy made great impact off the bench and almost burst over the line himself. After a break in play up stepped our worthy Man of the Match Ryan, who I’d asked to score a hattrick and he obliged in the dying seconds of the game. Callum kicked the conversion and was 100% with the boot today, racking up an impressive 34 individual points tally. This brought the game to an end with a much needed win for Judes 10-66.

A dominant team performance from the lads, everything on the pitch just clicked today, no mean feat scoring 66 points, but every lad was hungry for the win and every lad played their part in the game. Well Done to all concerned on a superb win, you’ve now shown us what you are capable of, so more of the same next week please!
