Saturday, 12 March 20221st TeamWoolstonAway0-40St Jude’s NCL team travelled to local side Woolston and came away on the wrong side of a 40-0 scoreline .
The home side were a well drilled, big set that did the basics really well. St Judes did show glimpses of form in parts of the game, but couldn’t ultimately sustain any consistent pressure to make any impact on the impressive Woolston defence. It was a tough afternoon for the travelling side but belief is everything and this side must believe that they can bounce back from this and make an impact on the league that their talent deserves.
Saturday, 12 March 20227'sWigan St CuthbertsAway32-32A great game of rugby played in high spirits from all 18 players of St Judes.

The commitment and desire was great to see from both teams. Top tackling performances earned a top tacklers award for Harry Schofield and Finley Penman.

Cadishead V Wigan St Judes U11’s Golds.
The first game of the season for the Gold’s over in Cadishead. A very windy morning and after a very frustrating off season, with not much pre-season training, with having no training facilities. The boys in gold did us proud.
Judes kicked off to Cadishead, they passed the ball out and 2nd tackle was a knock on, Judes ball, Judes knocked on, the first 5 minutes was full of dropped balls from both sides.
Judes got their act together and started to keep hold of the ball and play as a team.
First try of the day came from Will Cobley, who ducked and dived over the try line. Will Cobley converting his own try. Cadishead 0 – Judes 6.
Cadishead just couldn’t keep hold of the ball, again Judes ball, when Freddie boomed down the field handing off as he went, scoring a try. Declan Haskayne converting. Cadishead 0- Judes 12.
The Judes boys were really up for this game, forcing errors for Cadishead, who couldn’t get up the field.
Jayden King went over the white wash, with his amazing fast feet. Zak Lushchan converting. Cadishead 0 – Judes 18
Just before the half time mark, Henlea Baynham collected the ball from a kick to score under the post. Jayden King converting. Cadishead 0 – Judes 24
HALF TIME.
Cadishead kicked off to Judes, Judes gathered the ball, ran a couple of sets before Archie Unsworth scooped the ball and ran ¾ of the pitch with a Cadishead player on his back, to score an amazing try. Paddy Kelly converting. Cadishead 0 – Judes 30
Cadishead looked like scoring just as Ollie Caddick went in with a bell ringer of a tackle. Stopping the Cadishead team in their tracks, forcing a knock on.
Judes reacted with a superb try from Tommy Shaw who tucked himself in at the corner flag. Joey Adair converting. Cadishead 0 – Judes 36.
With only a couple of minutes to go, Tommy Boom took a brilliant offload to race down the wing, scoring the last try of the game. Tommy converting his own try.

An amazing effort from each lad involved in today’s match. Pushing their limits at times.
Man of the match: Ollie Caddick.
Top tackler: Henlea Baynham.
Special Mention: On his debut and some amazing tackles, Joey Adair.

Sunday, 13 March 202215'sCrossfieldsAway22-12Crossfields v Wigan St.Judes U15s

Today Judes travelled to Crossfields .
Carrying a few injuries but up for the challenge Judes went into this match looking for the win.
Judes started well forcing errors , passing well and defending everything that came at them , crossing the line 1st and taking the lead .
This continued throughout the 1st half with an end to end game and both sides trying not to give ground .
2nd half started with Judes leading and the game going much the same as the 1st , a couple more injuries for Judes but the subs were up for the challenge .
In the end Crossfields came through to take the game to 22-12 at the final whistle.
Judes definitely gave Crossfields a shock in this game and the scoreline doesn't do it justice 1 bit . Everyone played their part and played well .
M.O.M was given to Kian and Tyler
Sunday, 13 March 20229's - GoldsWoolston Rovers GoldsHomeX XAnother good morning of rugby down for our first home match if the season.

Two teams who faced each other for the first time ever in a good spirited encounter. They were well matched throughout with both teams completing sets and forcing turnovers of possession.

Some good passing and offload sequences from Judes made the difference with tries coming down the right hand side. The teams went try for try as the match progressed and looked to be a heading to a draw with a late try edging the match.

The kids can be really proud of their efforts today and they demonstrated a good understanding of this seasons rules once again which we'll be building on in training.

Players of the match

Adam - Ronnie for putting a really strong performance with and without the ball

Chris - Harry H for some excellent carries with the ball and strong defence

Michael - Leo for a resilient performance, taking on board feedback and for some excellent off loads to set up his team mates

Opposition - Joe B for being really strong in defence and finding some great space when running with the ball
