Connor Parkinson scored 4 tries to inspire an emphatic St Jude’s response to their cruel loss away at Dewsbury Moor in their last game by totally dominating Hunslet Warriors at the Meadow with a 52-16 win. Jude’s were in front with 5 mins played as Gav Rodden produced a neat offload to Connor Parkinson and he powered down the left to put his team in front, Fisher goaled the first of his 8 conversations. Jude’s were 10-0 up after only 11 mins on the clock after swift hands put Paul Pendlebury in on the right. In a rare foray near the Jude’s line there was a promising spell for Hunslet were they managed to sneak over. Jude’s response was quick when Sponsors Man of the Match Connor Parkinson went on a searing run down the left for a cracking try, the same as Connors first as Gav Rodden provided the assist but Connor still had plenty to do , Fisher goaled. Then right from the restart winger Daz Ball received the ball on his own 25 mts he then proceeded to run 75 mts breezing past players en route to touchdown by the posts for a brilliant score, Fisher did the rest with the boot and Jude’s led 28-6 at the break. The second half continued in the same vein with Gary McMahon, Rob Fenney and Ben Fisher heavily involved in everything good about Jude’s, and Paul Pendlebury scored of a McMahon pass. Jude’s forwards Danny Fallon , Danny Clayton , Declan Hidden , Nathan Bevan and Olumide Oladele were all doing there bit with strong carries and solid defensive work which at times the visitors couldn’t hold. On 64mins Jude’s were awarded a penalty try when lively scrum half Gary McMahon got over on the right,Fisher goaled. Hunslet Warriors were finding it difficult to move out of their own half when Jude’s got the ball and Connor Parkinson then charted a mazy path from the left edge before diverting inside as he scored his 4th try of the game. Jude’s final points came from a delightful kick through from Gav Rodden for Gary McMahon to get his second try of the game and the reliable boot of N C L Man of the Match Ben Fisher slotted over the two for the final score of 52-16. A much needed boost with this win, but still more needed to challenge for promotion and next week the big one Stanningley Away.
