Wigan st judes first team recorded a mightily impressive victory over league leaders Crosfields on their own ground by winning 31-16. Rob Collier was chief tormentor for Judes with a 11 point haul plus one 40-20 and 11 kicks in general play which Crosfields couldn't handle. It was Crosfields who scored first on 5 mins but Judes quickly responded and great work by Centre Adam Lavin who fed Joey Brady on the wing who handed off his opposite winger to go on a 50 meter charge to the line, Rob Collier goaled from wide out. Crosfields speed of attacks were causing Judes problems at times and only for top defence up the middle with forwards Tom Owen, Nathan Bevan, Josh Rogerson, Gavin Rodden,Dave Fagan and Oly Oladele Judes could have been in a lot of trouble,Judes did crack though wide out and Crosfields took the lead again but once again Judes hit right back when Adam Lavin broke free to set up a Judes attack when  Nathan Bevan , Rob Fenney, Baz Rothwell and Rob Collier combined to fined Connor Parkinson on the right who brushed aside his opposite number to score a great try, Collier obliged with the boot Judes were back in front again. With half time approaching Crosfields piled on the attacks but Judes held firm and went in with a slender 12-10 lead at the half. Crosfields continued to pile on the pressure from minute one of the second half and just managed to sneak over from dummy half for a soft try. This spurred Judes on and in the last 25 mins they stamped their authority on the game. Jude's forwards did begin to assert their authority Luke Barrett, Keiron Gaskell, Nathan Moore all making an impact from the bench when introduced. Full Back Nathan Jones had another solid game with the ball always beating the first man and deservingly took the man of the match award for the second time. Suddenly the balance of play felt like it had shifted in Judes favour and when Hooker Nathan Bevan broke away to feed strong running second rower Gavin Rodden who scored right under the sticks, Collier goaled to put Jude's back in the lead they would not fall behind again for the rest of the afternoon. There were nervous moments for Judes but you sensed they were well up for the challenge. On 72mins second rower Josh Rogerson was tackled just short of the Crosfields line but quick thinking Nathan Bevan fed Dave Fagan who smashed his way over by the posts and was held up but just managed to reach over and put the ball down by the posts, Collier obliged with the boot. There looked to be no stopping Judes Momentum as they rolled forward with ease Luke Barrett, Keiron Gaskell, Gavin Rodden and Tom Owen causing havoc down the middle keeping  Crosfields on their heels. Centre Adam Lavin completed Judes scoring right on full time after great work from Collier, Fenny, Brady and Rodden. This was easily St Judes best performance of the season and this very young side should build on this great win. This was a very positive St Judes performance with everyone upping their game.

Man of the Match Nathan Jones solid performance again.
